PORT CONNECTIVITY MAP

MTIP is situated at the eastern terminus of the East – West Economic Corridor (EWEC)—at the intersection of the North-South and East-West axes—offering the shortest route for transporting goods from Laos and Northeast Thailand to the East Sea. PHASE 1

July 2026: Commissioning of 410 m of berth (Berths 1 & 2); capable of accommodating vessels up to 30,000 DWT.

September 2026: Commissioning of 650 m of berth (Berths 1 & 2); capable of accommodating vessels up to 50,000 DWT.

November 2026: Completion of the turning basin (Phase 1); capable of accommodating vessels up to 100,000 DWT.

Q3 2027: Completion of Berths 3 & 4, increasing total berth length to 1,300 m; capable of accommodating vessels up to 100,000 DWT.

Phase 2 focuses on infrastructure upgrades and the construction of three additional berths, increasing the total wharf length to 2,275 meters and throughput capacity to 21 million tonnes per year, while also widening the shipping channel to optimize the capacity to accommodate ultra-large vessels.

PHASE 3

Phase 3 involves completing the final three berths to achieve a fully integrated 10-berth facility spanning 3,250 meters, officially bringing the entire 685-hectare port project into full operation with a maximum capacity of 30 million tonnes per year, thereby affirming its status as a world-class, smart mega-seaport.
